A Prayer

Almighty God, you have created us as people with body and mind, and you have told us in the Word Incarnate that we are to love you with all our mind. Your design is for our thoughts to reflect your thoughts, and to function free from brokenness and distress.
We pray for those whose vocation it is to strengthen and care for the mental health of others. Give them deep wisdom as they look at complicated problems. Their work is complex and can be burdensome. We pray that you sustain and strengthen them. Anchor them in your word, in times of prayer, and in worship, that they may be truly centered in you.
Give them patience and security that they can tend to the needs of others while also tending to their own well being. Remind them that as they pour themselves into this healing work they partner with you. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who came to care for our heart, soul, spirit and mind.
